About Pleasant Grove Church

White church building with a steeple under a clear blue sky.

We are a Spirit-led, multi-generational church grounded in the Word of God and committed to worship, discipleship, and sharing the love of Christ! Our desire is to create a welcoming place where people can encounter God’s presence, grow in their faith, and experience authentic community. We believe in the power of prayer, the work of the Holy Spirit, and the life-changing truth of God’s Word.

Our Beliefs

God

We believe there is one true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Deuteronomy 6:4

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose again on the third day, ascended into heaven, and will return again in power and glory.

John 1:1-14, 3:16; Isaiah 7:14; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the present-day ministry of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit empowers believers to live holy lives, guides them in truth, and equips them for service and ministry.

John 14:16-17; Galatians 5:22-23; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:14

The Bible

We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the foundation for our faith, doctrine, and daily living.

2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105

Salvation

We believe that all are sinners and salvation is a free gift of God received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Through His blood we receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 4:12; John 3:16

Sanctification

We believe sanctification is the ongoing work of God in the life of the believer, setting them apart for holy living and transforming them into the image of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe Christians are called to pursue holiness in thought, word, and action.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-4; Hebrews 12:14; Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Galatians 5:16-25; 1 Peter 1:15-16

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a distinct experience available to believers after salvation, accompanied by spiritual empowerment and the operation of spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues.

Acts 1:4-5; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:1-6; Joel 2:28-29; Luke 3:16; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11

Water Baptism

We believe in water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ.

Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-4

Spiritual Gifts

We believe the gifts of the Spirit described in the New Testament are active today and are given to build up the Church and glorify God.

1 Corinthians 12:4-11; Romans 12:6-8; Ephesians 4:11-13

Divine Healing

We believe divine healing is provided through the atonement of Jesus Christ and that God still heals physically, emotionally, and spiritually today.

Isaiah 53:5; James 5:14-16; Mark 16:17-18; Matthew 8:16-17

Resurrection

We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead on the third day, demonstrating His victory over sin, death, and the grave. We also believe in the future resurrection of all people: eternal life for those who belong to Christ and eternal damnation for the lost.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Matthew 28:5-6; John 11:25-26; Romans 6:4-5; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15

The Return of Christ

We believe Jesus Christ will personally return for His Church in power and glory. His return gives believers hope and calls us to live faithfully and ready for His coming.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Acts 1:11; Titus 2:13; Revelation 22:12
